I Principle of single screw extruder

1. The core component of a single-screw extruder is the screw. Its movement mode determines the plastic processing process. The screw both rotates and advances during the entire extrusion process, and continuous extrusion is achieved through the thrust acting on the plastic material column. Specifically, the screw cooperates with the barrel through tooth grooves, and the plastic raw materials gradually melt and push forward under the extrusion force of the screw, and finally the plastic products of the required shape are extruded from the mold.

2. Heating and cooling systems are used to maintain the appropriate temperature of the plastic during the extrusion process. Single-screw extruders are usually equipped with heating and cooling systems. The heating system heats the barrel and screw through electric heaters or conduction to ensure that the plastic raw materials can be fully melted; while the cooling system cool the barrel and screw through fans or water cooling. Cooling allows the extruded plastic products to solidify quickly.
